Snapchatters may have noticed a mysterious "more" button that pulls up information related to the locations pictured, including opening hours or contact details.
It's all part of a new feature called Context Cards, which allows you to complete bookings using Trip Advisor, Foursquare and Michelin.
Tap the sheet of paper to add an emoji, the T button to add text, or the pencil to write a message or scrawl a doodle.
But initial reviews from users were far from glowing - with up to 83 per cent of reviews on Apple's App Store being negative.
A spokesman for Snapchat said: "Updates as big as this one can take a little getting used to, but we hope the community will enjoy it once they settle in." More than 800,000 Snapchat users signed a petition in protest against the redesign.
The list will show everyone you have added on Snapchat, even if they haven't added you back - or have deleted you.
